Rusthall Going Green
The Spring meeting is on Thursday 22nd March at the school with Greg Clark MP and Mike Grenville from Transition Forest Row
The Rusthall Bonfire and Fete Committee,
as part of the national celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on Monday June 4, the village will hold a walking fancy dress procession from the Toad Rock departing at 10.45am passing along Grange Road, Cranwell Road, Rusthall High Street and Southwood Road to the playing field. People can join the procession as it passes along the route on the pavements. At the playing field there will be a hog roast, barbeque, soft drinks and games organised for the children. It is anticipated the celebrations will finish about 4pm.
Planning has also started for the annual torchlight procession, bonfire and firework display which will be held on Saturday October 27. As the Kent police will no longer be involved with the procession, the committee has to find 44 adults who guarantee to be available as marshals at all the road junctions on the procession route on that evening to satisfy Kent Highways traffic management requirements. Will anyone interested please come along to the open meeting on February 23.
The annual fete
at Southwood Road playing field will be held on Saturday July 21 commencing at 12 noon. Planning for this event has already started. All interested persons are invited to an open meeting to be held in Rusthall Club, St Paul's Street, at 7.30pm on Thursday February 23 to give suggestions for events or stalls or volunteer to help at the fete.
