Issue No 26 : April 2010The March 25 RVA meeting was held in St Paul's School on the theme of Rusthall Going Green. The Chairman was Greg Clark MP and the aim was to encourage Rusthall to be more savvy about measures we can all take - from solar panels, via recycling to electricity monitors. The Energy Saving Trust has chosen Rusthall as a pilot and was on hand with grant application forms etc. Here is the first update on progress since that meeting from Tony Rutherford. Email him if you wish to get involved or find out more. 1. We are looking at establishing a newsletter 2. We have had one meeting of the small group and decided to pursue Free Recycling - we have a meeting with the TW Friends of the Earth soon and will consider having a stall at the Rusthall Summer Fair on July 24 3. There were over 50 suggestions made at our big meeting when over 60 people came. Although only one suggestion appeared more than twice ("Freegling") we are hoping to establish other initiatives eg promoting a Home Energy Check which can be done - quickly, I've tried it! - on line and by post. 4. To do the HEC on line, go to the Energy Saving website and log in.

5. We will get 140 copies of the HEC questionnaire to distribute to selected people. Please let me know if you'd like one 6. To find out how the Car Sharing schemes work. Jenny told us that KCC is actively looking into a cycle track from Langton to the Station More as and when, Tony
