RVA Committee Meeting 3rd February 2005.
Several topics were discussed, namely the proposed A264 road speed limits, the reopening of the public toilets, Middlefields and the question of installing new traffic signs in Lower Green Road. These topics may sound familiar to members. They were being discussed as to the arranging of possible follow ups in order to officially check results of our previous efforts. We are delighted to inform you that a 'Notice to revoke the existing taxi rank in the High Street.' was posted in the Courier. Contacts are being maintained on all points. We hope to encourage constant ACTION!!

Invitation to Members of the RVA.
There are now one hundred and three members and we distribute one hundred and fifty copies of the RVA Messenger. Please pass on your copy of the RVA Messenger to your neighbours and ask them to do likewise, thank you. As our membership grows, so does the official voice of the village. The invitation is, to inform us of your concerns for the village. We will do our best to engage the appropriate people to come and address the RVA. This will provide us all with a chance of question and answer sessions. Together, we will have opportunities to suggest improvements.

Police Community Support Officer. [P.C.S.O.]
We now have our own, his name is Mr: Giles Souper, he is funded by The Home Office and will patrol Rusthall and Showfields until our Warden has been selected and fully trained.

The CCTV camera is due to be installed this month in the High Street. It will be possible to operate it from two different positions.

Pensions.
There are apparently, many pensioners who are entitled to 'Pensions Credit' who know nothing about it. One of our meetings will be devoted to this topic, it will be an informative and interesting evening for most people. The speaker belongs to the RVA. Watch the Rusthall news slot in the Courier for details of future meetings.

General Election.
Representatives of the three main parties will be invited to speak briefly and provide an ample opportunity for questions afterwards. If you feel a little shy, perhaps you could give the committee your question in advance. We will do our best to obtain an answer, please include your name with the request and attend the meeting. Most of us have questions that need answering.
