"To have a voice that will be heard, the RVA needs at least 100 members. This Association was formed precisely to provide that voice."
Officialdom can ride rough-shod over what we as individuals may utter among ourselves but together we count.

Mrs: Jenny Alexander
the RVA Secretary, gave an interesting presentation on various tax credits as a representative of the CAB. She informed us that all CAB's are separate and independent charities. They have a team of specialist advisers who provide an excellent service. A few examples are listed below.
Mental Health, Housing, Eviction and Pension Credit.
They also have a Youth Work Team.
She assured us that all advice is entirely impartial and reassured us with this "We can always put you in touch with the right person."
The Tunbridge Wells CAB can be found in Monson Road behind the Italian restaurant. Incidentally, the TW branch was established in 1939.
Progress [New Pembury Hospital.]
Laurence Bunnett the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells National Health Trust Acting Project Director gave us a progress report 31st Aug:
They are projecting the estimated requirements for ten years hence. Sadly he could not show us any 'artistic impressions' of the new building. It is thought that there will be between 500 and 600 beds having 85% in permanent use, leaving 15% for emergencies.
lt is hoped that the preferred bidder will be selected by March 2006, starting construction at the end of 2006. The building will be completed by 2010. Subsequent buildings will be completed by 2011. He mentioned the fact, that when the first phase of the building has been completed and in use, there will be no car parking facilities. He apologised that there will be maximum amount of inconvenience for a short while. The subject of public transport was raised and negotiations will be conducted on that subject. Referring to the publication of the planning details for public inspections and opinions. He said. "Let your voice be heard."
